FlexArc® R – High-Performance Multi-Robot Welding Cell with Configurable Safety
The FlexArc® R is a high-performance arc welding cell designed for flexible, multi-robot configurations. It supports two or three ABB robots (IRB 1600, 2600, or 4600) for simultaneous high-speed welding tasks. The cell offers operator access options with either a roll door or horizontal and vertical light curtains, and comes fully equipped with integrated safety features including fencing, fume extraction, and automated access control. Its IRP R positioner handles workpieces up to 1000 kg, including fixtures, enabling precision welding of large or complex parts.
Built on a modular base frame, the FlexArc R features ABB’s adaptive software and high-speed drives for fast changeovers and increased productivity. It includes an IRC5 robot controller, HMI, FlexPendant, a 250 kg welding wire pack for continuous operation, and a TSC unit with torch cleaner and BullsEye® tool center calibration. Compatible with a variety of ABB-approved welding power sources, the FlexArc R delivers a scalable and efficient automation platform for demanding industrial welding applications.
