Built for Maximum Payload. Designed for Uptime.
The IRB 8700 is ABB’s 8th generation and highest-payload industrial robot, available in four robust configurations: 800/3.50 and 550/4.20 models, each offered with or without ABB’s optional LeanID integrated dressing solution. These variants support payloads up to 800 kg in standard setup—or up to 1,000 kg when the wrist is oriented downward—providing the flexibility needed for extreme material handling tasks across a range of applications.
Engineered for minimal downtime and mechanical simplicity, the IRB 8700 features a streamlined drive system with just one motor and one gear per axis, reducing energy use and maintenance costs. It is ideally suited for high-demand industries such as automotive body-in-white, heavy metal fabrication, and foundry operations—where high payload capacity, reliability, and rugged durability are mission-critical. With IP67 protection as standard, integrated wrist utilities, and optional LeanID for enhanced dress pack life and simulation accuracy, the IRB 8700 delivers reliable, high-throughput performance in the most challenging environments.
